Taiwanese tech firm setting up robotics plant in Batangas—Aboitiz estates

MANILA – Taiwanese industrial firm CQS Precision Die Casting is establishing a robotics manufacturing base in the Philippines, expanding its Southeast Asian production footprint into companion robotics, industrial park developer Aboitiz Economic Estates announced Wednesday.
The company’s newly established local entity, MDT Technologies Philippines Inc., has taken over a 1.86-hectare industrial lot at LIMA Estate, situated in the Lipa-Malvar economic zone in Batangas province, south of the capital Manila. The facility will produce the "Piebon Companion Robot" and is scheduled to become fully operational by the first quarter of 2028.
The project is expected to generate approximately 200 jobs and introduce high-tech robotics manufacturing to the estate’s growing industrial base, Aboitiz said.
Aboitiz said it formally handed over the property on September 15 following a ceremonial groundbreaking held on August 25, clearing the way for construction works
"We are pleased to welcome MDT Technologies Philippines to LIMA Estate as it takes this important step toward establishing its manufacturing operations in the country," Rafael De Mesa, president and chief executive officer of Aboitiz Economic Estates, said in a statement.
"Our role is to provide a strategic location for businesses to move from investment decisions to operations."
Taiwan-based CQS manufactures precision metal components for automotive, electric vehicle, mobility, agricultural, and general industrial applications. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Dong Nai, Vietnam, alongside international warehousing serving clients in the United States. Its capabilities span aluminum and zinc die casting, computerized numerical control (CNC) machining, stamping, surface treatment, and sub-assembly.
The investment highlights efforts by the Philippines to attract higher-value tech manufacturing into its regional industrial zones, leveraging integrated infrastructure, utility support, and access to a growing technical workforce.
